Smith College is a part of the Five College Consortium, a group of four local colleges and one university. One of the many benefits of this consortium is that we share our collections. This shared catalog means that students at Smith have access to the physical collections from each college's library. When you search in Discover Advanced you will see books from all of these libraries that you can then request be delivered to you here at Smith. 

➜ Use the "Five College Catalog Only" checkbox when you want to limit results to Smith and Five College items like print books, and exclude articles.

Whether you need a book from another campus, or don't have the time to look for one in Neilson, you can always request a book through the catalog. Books from both the Five Colleges and Smith are usually available the next day for pickup. Read our guide on Requesting Materials for more information!
