Search the ATLA Religion Database to find articles on specific chapters and verses in the Bible. For example, to find articles about Genesis 1:1.

1) Click the "Subjects" tab, under the search boxes.

2) Select 'Atla Scripture Search' from the drop-down options in the left-hand box.

3) Expand the biblical book that interests you.

4) Then expand the Chapter and select a Verse.

5) Select the "Add to Search" button.

6) Then select the 'Search' button.   

7)  Each article appearing in the results should have at least some commentary or interpretation of your selected verse.

Hints:

• You may need to look at several commentaries to find one or more that is appropriate for your research question.
• You may want to look at commentaries for a whole book or chapter, even if your question is about a specific verse.
