This guide includes major databases to help you find what you need for archaeology research. Use the tabs to find background information, articles, books, news, media, etc. 

A note about the categories:

  • Background Information includes encyclopedias, handbooks, and other kinds of information that will give you an overview or context.
  • Digital Scholarship provides links to open access scholarship as well as tools to create digital scholarship.
  • Special Topics provides resources about important aspects of the discipline of archaeology such as its history, dating methods, osteology, and conservation.
  • Class Guides will lead you to specialized library guides created for specific archaeology courses.
