What is the Bloomberg Terminal?

Bloomberg is a database covering more than 5 million bonds, equities, commodities, currencies, and funds. It covers most every publicly traded company in the world, and has profiles on more than a million people.

Access is for Smith College users and Five College students enrolled in Smith courses. Login to the computer workstation with your Smith username and password and then create your own account to login to Bloomberg.

The Bloomberg terminals are for non-commercial, academic research only.

Bloomberg Terminal Access

The Bloomberg Terminal is located in Neilson Library 103, in the Smith College Jill Ker Conway Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center. To schedule a time slot and receive access instructions please contact the Conway Center, ciec@smith.edu

Create a Bloomberg Login

In order to use the Bloomberg Terminal you must create a Bloomberg Login. 

  • Log on to the computer using your Smith username and password.
  • Double click om the Bloomberg icon on the computer's desktop.
  • Click on the blue link: <Enter> or <Go> to begin
  • Select Create a New Login
  • Follow the directions and fill out the questions
  • Make sure to use your smith.edu email address
  • You will be prompted to send a verification code to your cell phone, landline or email account - a cell phone is recommended
