Finding Periodical Articles - Browsing

  1. Popular news magazines will often have "Year in Review" issues - usually the last or first of the year.

  2. You may also want to locate the weekly issue covering the day of your birth.

  3. Try browsing through some of the periodicals on level 2 of the library under the call number (per) AP 2.

  4. You can also consult an almanac such as the World Almanac & Book of Facts.  These are shelved on level B South (2 floors down from the main entrance and to the left) under the call number AY 67 .N5 W7.  Remember that almanacs summarize news from the PREVIOUS YEAR - so 1995 has news from 1994.

  5. In the reference collection, you can also consult Day by Day: The Nineties (ref D856 .A93 2004) and Chronology of American History (ref E174.5 .F74 2008).
