The New RefWorks (Version 3) offers a well-designed interface and many new features.  Please note that some features will continue to be under development throughout 2020. 

To create an account in the new RefWorks:

  1. Go to and click "Create Account."
  2. Fill in your information making sure to use your institutional email address.
    (Note: You can’t sign up with,, etc.)

Note: To ensure that your original paper in MS Word is secure, always make a back-up copy when you use Write-n-Cite Version 4.
