Web & App Access
- New York Times, 1851+ This link opens in a new window
- From the New York Times activation page, select Create Account
- Select Continue using your Smith e-mail address
- You will then be able to go directly to nytimes.com or use the NYT app to gain full access with the account you've created
- Washington Post This link opens in a new window
- Full-text access to current issues. When on the campus IP range, there is no need to sign in. For off-campus access and for added functionality, you can create your own account.
- On the Washington Post website, select Sign In, then Connect with Google. Select your Smith email account and follow the prompts to complete your account creation. Once you're logged in, select your name in the top right, then select Subscription & Billing. Finally, select the Activate Free Digital Access button.

Financial News Web & App Access

- Click this link to get to the Smith authentication log-in, and then you'll be prompted to create your own Wall Street Journal login (which does not need to be the same as your Smith login)
- You will then be able to go directly to wsj.com or use the WSJ app from anywhere, on any device and gain full access with the login you've created
- Faculty and staff need to refresh their account annually
- Financial Times This link opens in a new window
- Click this link to get to the Smith authentication log-in for the Financial Times
- Use your @smith.edu email address and follow the remaining instructions to create your account
- After your account has been created, you can go directly to Financial Times to login or use the Financial Times app
Search for Newspapers
Enter the newspaper title, not the article title:
- Journal Locator / Publication Finder Search for a publication title, or use options such as ISSN
- Access World News [NewsBank] (Coverage varies by title) This link opens in a new windowCurrent and archived news content including local, state, national and international newspapers, broadcast transcripts, news wires, news blogs, video, etc.
Alternative Press
