Introducing Delicious: Mobile & Social Bookmarking

With browser tagging tools you can quickly add links to your Delicious account, and many websites feature "share this" options. It's easy to import your bookmarks from Firefox or another web browser. Then you create tags that make sense to you -- use as many as you like.

Delicious tag graphicFor example, all the sites you tag with comedy and video will be placed in the "comedy" collection and the "video" collection. Tags work the same way for everyone, so you can also check out other people's "comedy" or "video" bookmarks.

Delicious inbox graphicDelicious is a social bookmarking website. You can add anyone you want to your network and exchange bookmarks with the Inbox feature.

Use it for course-related group work and with your friends. You choose which links you'd like to share.

It's easy to send someone a link to the stuff you have tagged by a particular word in your Delicious site, and you can also create a tag cloud, in the colors and size you choose. Then it can be posted on a blog, in Moodle, or on a website.

For complete information, visit the Delicious website at http://www.delicious.com. You'll find demos and instructions and links to popular tags.

Other well-known social bookmarking tools include Connotea, Diigo, and CiteULike. Find brief summaries and follow links to 10 top social bookmarking sites on RefSeek, a web search engine for students and researchers: http://www.refseek.com/directory/bookmarking.html
