Off-campus access to Write-n-Cite

Windows Users

1. From the Start menu, select Programs, then RefWorks.
2. Select the WNC Proxy Configuration Utility.
3. Enter the following URL:
   http://libproxy.smith.edu:2048/login?url=https://www.refworks.com/Refworks/?WNC=true

Macintosh Users

Contact the Reference Desk (x2960, neilref@smith.edu) for the group code.

On June 1, 2010, we will be changing the RefWorks group code. Current RefWorks users were sent an email with the new group code. If you did not receive this email, contact the USC or Reference Desk. The group code is changed annually to make sure that only Smith affiliated users are accessing our RefWorks subscription.

RefWorks is in the process of rolling out a new interface, RefWorks 2.0. Starting May 27, 2010 you will have the option to use the new interface or the old, "classic" interface. The 2.0 interface is still in beta and you may encounter temporary glitches as work is completed on this interface. You can switch back and forth between the interfaces without losing data by using a link in the top right corner of the RefWorks screen. The "classic" interface will be discontinued in August/September 2011.
